Debra Brunner speaking on Holocaust Memorial Day in Newcastle
a look back and moving forward
As we close out 2024, we’re thrilled to bring you an amazing roundup of this year’s achievements in our December newsletter. Read about the miraculous story of how we stepped in to save a burial in Belarus, and new possibilities for Jewish burials in the country. We also share the latest updates on the construction of the Brest-Litovsk Jewish cemetery memorial, a vital project preserving history and honouring those who came before us. Excitingly, we’re kicking off the second in-school pilot of our Making History Together Holocaust education programme, building on the success of last year’s initiative. And don’t miss a very special story about an author with personal ties to Brest, where our memorial is taking shape.
Thank you for being a part of our journey in 2024. Your support has made all of this possible, and we can’t wait to share more with you in the year ahead!
Wishing you happy holidays and hopes for a happy and peaceful new year.
All the best

Andrea Simon began writing her incredibly moving novel, Esfir is Alive with three main intentions: to include characters that represented her relatives from Volchin, to help readers understand the rich Jewish life in Poland and Belarus before the Holocaust.
