As we continue to work towards creating a lasting memorial at the historic site of the Brest-Litovsk Jewish cemetery in southern Belarus, we are pleased to share some important updates. Over the last three weeks, we have made significant progress, particularly in finalising the agreement with the construction company that will undertake the first phase of this meaningful project. This has been a detailed and complex process, requiring careful checks and fine-tuning to ensure clarity and mutual understanding between both parties. All being well the agreement will be signed next week – the first week of October.
In addition to securing the agreement, preparatory works have already begun on-site. Trees that currently stand in the area designated for the memorial are being carefully relocated to make way for construction. This step marks an important milestone as we move closer to bringing this significant project to life.
The Brest-Litovsk Jewish cemetery memorial will honour the memory of the Jewish community that once thrived in Brest-Litovsk, preserving their history for future generations. With this project on the cusp of becoming a reality, we are filled with hope and gratitude for the support we have received so far.
We will continue to keep you updated as we move forward with the construction, and we thank you for your ongoing interest and support in this important endeavour.
