On September 10th, The Together Plan made history by hosting its first-ever Soccerthon tournament fundraising event at the Finchley Wingate Football Club in the heart of North London. Despite the sweltering heat, the day was filled with an abundance of high spirits, camaraderie, and unwavering community support.
This extraordinary event brought together people from various walks of life, all rallying behind a common cause – to raise funds and awareness for work of The Together Plan supporting isolated communities and Jewish cultural heritage in Belarus, Holocaust education, book translations and sending humanitarian aid. The atmosphere was electric, as five teams, each representing a different country, took to the field with immense enthusiasm. Italy, the UK, Cyprus, Argentina, and Greece were proudly represented as selected by the team captains.
But the Soccerthon was not just about the competition on the pitch. It was a day for families to come together and enjoy a wide range of activities that catered to all ages and interests. From the scent of freshly popped popcorn to the colorful face painting, from arts and crafts to the hilariously entertaining giant inflatable football darts – there was never a dull moment.
The teams showcased remarkable skill, unwavering determination, and outstanding sportsmanship throughout the tournament. The climactic moment arrived with the closely contested final match, pitting Argentina against Cyprus in an intense showdown. In the end, Argentina emerged victorious, securing the coveted cup with a hard-fought 4-2 win. This thrilling conclusion added an extra layer of excitement to an already memorable day.
What truly stood out was the overwhelming sense of community that permeated the event. Families, friends, and supporters turned out in full force, creating an atmosphere of unity and togetherness that warmed the hearts of everyone present.
The fundraising efforts of the day were nothing short of spectacular. Thanks to the incredible generosity of our sponsors and supporters, The Together Plan raised close to £9500. We extend our deepest gratitude to all those who made this achievement possible.

Plans are underway for the 2024 Soccerthon, and we promise it will be bigger and better than ever. If you’re interested in participating and putting together a team for the June 2024 event, there’s no better time to get involved than now.
The inaugural Soccerthon Tournament Fundraising event was a true testament to the power of community, unity, and giving. This event would not have been possible without the inspirational Andy Mihaleto who we are so lucky to have as part of our amazing team at The Together Plan. We are deeply grateful to everyone who supported us, and we look forward to making an even greater impact in 2024. By coming together and playing together, we can continue to make a real and positive difference to the lives of other people.
