Film Night: Karski and The Lords of Humanity

Film Night: Karski and The Lords of Humanity

Join us for a special screening of the acclaimed documentary about Jan Karski – the man who risked everything to awaken the conscience of the world.

KARSKI &THE LORDS OF HUMANITY recreates and dramtizes one man’s death-defying mission to awaken the conscience of world leaders – “the lords of humanity” as he would later call them.

Newsweek named Jan Karski (1914-2000) one of the most outstanding personalities of his era, calling his wartime mission one of the moral milestones of 20th century civilization.
Using a groundbreaking technique that combines archival footage with animated sequences, Emmy-winning filmmaker Slawomir Grünberg tells the story of Karski, the Polish underground courier who travelled across occupied Europe, infiltrating the Warsaw Ghetto and a Nazi transit camp to deliver eyewitness accounts of the unfolding of the Holocaust to the Allied powers.

Among the archival materials are never-before-seen interviews with Karski conducted by E.Thomas Wood, co-author of Karski: How One Man Tried to Stop the Holocaust.

Doors open 19.30 and programme starts 20.00.
Tea, coffee, cake and biscuits will be provided.

Secure your place now – register today to witness this powerful story of courage and conscience.

All proceeds from the event will support The Together Plan’s work with vulnerable Jewish communities and the preservation of Jewish cultural heritage in Eastern Europe.
