On October 25th, 14 members of the north London business community accompanied Debra Brunner (founder and CEO of The Together Plan) to a remote airfield outside of Cambridge, to take a leap of faith.
All had signed up to do a charity skydive in support of the first phase of the Jewish heritage trail that The Together Plan is initiating in Belarus. As the sun came up, the skies were clear and the group were hopeful that all 15 would be able to jump. Adrenalin was running high and there was a buzz of energy and excitement as training was given, kit and equipment were allocated and the first plane went up. Debra was in group one, and after months of fearful anticipation, she took that leap of faith and jumped. The 5 brave jumpers hurtled to the ground at 120mph through ice clouds before their parachutes were deployed and they drifted safely back to earth. Photos of the day can be seen here.
By 11am the weather started to turn, and as the second plane went up, it received instructions to land. Conditions had turned making it unsafe for skydiving and so the day ended there. But the challenge continues. 10 skydivers have yet to make their jumps, and so we are planning a second round in the spring of 2020. If anyone would like to join us and to step up and be a skydiving charity champion, please email us.
The skydive was initiated by BNI Chipping, a business networking group who meet in Mill Hill weekly. Debra has been a member for the last 5 years. There are 53 members who represent an array of professional services. Click here to see who the members are and check the list to see if there are any business professionals we can recommend. As the charity in the group, we want to be able to give back to the businesses who are continuing to support the growth of The Together Plan. Their loyalty to what we do is formidable and we are deeply grateful to have this support. If you would like a recommendation for any business services, please ask us. What’s more – if you need a recommendation to anyone in the BNI global network, wherever you are in the world – just ask us.
If you have sponsored Debra or any of the other jumpers we would like to offer a huge thank you. If you haven’t yet sponsored and would like to, just click here.
