Since our crowdfunding campaign in May, our team in Belarus has been diligently preparing for the forthcoming works at the site of the Brest-Litovsk Jewish cemetery. Our architect has been meticulously crafting all the technical specifications required by the construction company. We have been in discussions with the designer of the memorial, our major donor who commissioned the project, local contractors to ensure we select the right people for this significant project and the Municipality in Brest as all the moving parts start to come together.

We are saddened to share the news of the passing of Boris Brook, the Chairman of the Brest Jewish community, who would have turned 91 on the 8th August. Boris Brook featured prominently in our campaign film and was eagerly anticipating the realisation of the memorial. Over the 11 years we have been dedicated to this project, we have lost several cherished individuals whose hearts and minds were deeply entrenched in our mission.

Despite these losses, we are buoyed by the unwavering belief that our supporters had in us and our shared determination to see the memorial completed. We are committed to bringing this vision to life, fulfilling the trust and hope placed in us by those who are no longer with us.
